The RCC7D features the same core five stage reverse osmosis filtration process found on other systems, but what sets this model apart is the specially manufactured DI resin filter. This filter system uses reverse osmosis along with a process called deionization to supply the highest purity water, even purer than distilled water, with zero dissolved solids or minerals. This makes the water from this system perfect for filling aquariums or washing glassware. Demineralized water excels in many uses not just for aquariums and cleaning, but also chemistry experiments, car engines, and even industrial machinery. Without possible scale build up from minerals or skewed test results from laboratory experiments, DI water has become popular with both commercial and residential settings. However, water from this system is not recommended for drinking. Although safe, water with no minerals or TDS may taste strange to most customers.
