- A versatile mechanical belay device with cam-assisted braking, the Edelrid Pinch belay device also features the option of connecting directly to your belay loop to eliminate the risk of cross loading.
- Device can be connected to belay loop using a locking carabiner (not included) or directly to the belay loop itself
- Direct attachment to the belay loop eliminates the risk of cross loading, as it eliminates the carabiner from the belayer’s system
- It also orients the device closer to the belayer’s body and adds significant control to all aspects of belaying
- Increases the belayer’s ability to pay out rope when lead climbing by an estimated 4 to 7 in., while also shortening the distance a lead climber falls by 8 to 14 in.
- Suitable for dynamic ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 10.5 mm
- Suitable for static ropes with a diameter of 10.0 to 10.5 mm (120 kg)
- Steel at all major wear points, preventing aluminum oxide buildup and increasing longevity
- Includes Anti-Panic feature, which can be disabled by inserting a small screw, provided in original packaging, in the handle of the device
- Locking mechanism has additional red line that, if visible, warns the user that the device is not closed properly
- Vertical and horizontal attachment points offer up to 4 different orientations when top-rope belaying
