Use
- Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
- Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal and glass.
- It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone or frozen food, as other blades can be easily damaged.
Care
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent.
- Rinse and dry immediately.
- Avoid using cleaners containing bleach and citrus extracts.
- Maintain cutting edge by regularly using honing steel.
- Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, knife should not need sharpening more than once or twice per year.
- Sharpen knife at home using a whetstone or knife sharpener specifically designed for scalloped blade, or have it sharpened by a professional.
- Shun owners may return Shun knives to Shun facility for free sharpening. Visit Shun website for warranty service forms and additional information.
- Store knife in safe place to protect edge and prevent injury.
